CLAUDE.md Archive

This directory contains archived development sessions from CLAUDE.md, organized by date.

Purpose

When CLAUDE.md grows too large (>2000 lines), older dated sections are automatically moved here to keep the main file manageable while preserving complete history.

Structure

Filename Format: YYYY-MM-DD-session.md
Content: All sections from a single date combined into one file
Links: Main CLAUDE.md maintains an Archive Index with links to all archived sessions

How to Archive

When CLAUDE.md needs archiving (file size check):

# Check current size
wc -l CLAUDE.md

# If > 2000 lines, run archive script
./scripts/archive-claude.sh

The script will: 1. Parse CLAUDE.md for dated sections 2. Group sections by date 3. Create archive files in this directory 4. Update CLAUDE.md with only current session + Archive Index

Viewing Archives

# List all archives
ls -lh docs/archive/*.md

# View specific archive
cat docs/archive/2025-11-12-session.md

# Search across archives
grep -r "Boss Agent" docs/archive/

Archive Maintenance

Retention: All archives are preserved indefinitely
Format: Markdown files with full section content
Git: All archives are tracked in version control
Cleanup: No automatic deletion - manual review if needed
