Superseded revisions, preserved byte-for-byte. A markdown file here carries exactly one prepended line — SUPERSEDED by <canonical path> … — followed by one blank line; everything after that is the original as it stood on main when it was retired (verify with tail -n +3 <file> | shasum -a 256 against the hash recorded in the retiring commit). Never edit these files; cite the canonical document instead.
